Is there bad or swelling after liposuction?

From personal experience, how is the swelling after liposuction?  How long is the healing after surgery?  Is the healing a lengthy time?  I a little scared about going into this plastic surgery.  It's my first time and I want some plastic surgery answers from peoples plastic surgery experience.   Thank you all!

Thanks Karen!  That's what I figured.  I had a deviated septum which required a septoplasty like 7 years ago.  The discomfort was unbearable for the first few day to a week.  After that it got better though.  I sure liposuction will be different, but somewhat similar.

Hi Nancy.  From observing it first hand, liposuction recovery time is pretty painful for about 4 days.  I remember the first few days were the worst.  Then, there was swelling and intense bruising for about 2 weeks.  If your going to go through with the surgery don't be too worried.  From talking about it it's like any other plastic surgery.  The first few days are horrible and the proceeding week or so is just discomfort.
